KILOMETER ZERO!

Finally we are chilling on the roof of our camper smoking a cigarette.
More than 1000 kilometers away from Buenos Aires close to Posadas in the province of Misiones.
But it took us quite some time and even more nerves to get here.

... it all started by knowing that something had to be repaired on the truck before heading north. The repuesto (little piece which should be replaced) we ordered in advance by e-mail. Our mobile home was parked in a special camping in Tigre by the former owners.

Due to our late Arrival in Tigre the first meeting with our mobile home was cut short and we had to go back to Buenos Aires without seeing the mechanic.
The second time we arrived earlier and went first to Mr. Marful form the Ford agency with whom Mireille already had e-mail conversations. He sold us a miracoulous plastic piece for 100 pesos (25 US $) which we never used in the end. His friends were afraid of our Pick-up telling us it was too heavy to lift (nearly 6 tons) in their garage where they just repair little toy cars... ;-)
After discussing 3 hours about the best solution we had enough and went to see our new home for the second time.
By then we already had a connection to a personal taxi driver called Roberto.

Roberto and Flow went for a little ride in the Pick-up to find out what the truck was missing...
They didn't hear any strange sound and they decided not to go see any mechanic because they were tired.
So after 4 hours waiting at the injurance company 6 h of train an taxi driving and 3 h discussing with the people at the garage for toy cars we finally understood that most argentinians are really helpful and friendly people and quite as fast as swiss officeworkers.
Fortunately Roberto brought us to our hero Osvaldo.

Osvaldo works together with his brother Gustavo and is more than just a mechanic. He creates replicas from old timers and likes to race them as well.
He just droped his work to help us getting on the road.
Over the weekend we even found some really helpful people on the riverside of San Fernando. Juan, Sergio and Oscar fixed our toilet perfectly - and also all the other folks: thanks a lot!

But until now, we've spend over 600.- US $ and still have a problem with our fridge. Anyway, we had to hit the road.

In a really sleepy town called Gualeguaychú, we ate in a restaurant next to the biggest "Schmatzer" ever. Imagine having a meal with Shrek in your back eating a whole cow!
The second time we found a nicer place to stay. thanks to the hitch-hike-couple Mike and Caroline we found some beautiful thermes in Concordia which we enjoyed at night.
On day three we hit the road at 10 o'clock and made some distance: 540 km in 8.5 hours.
Mireille had her experiance driving our truck in the traffic and even overtook three trucks!!!

And now, as we are lying in our bed, the alarm of the truck just went off! Burgler or just a misfunktion of the car?!?!?
...to be continued
